Overview

We are an international Marine Turbocharger Service company, with workshop locations in UK, Netherlands, Malta, Italy and Houston USA. Due to recent expansion of our group, we are looking for an experienced and driven Sales Manager to play a major part in delivering new customer growth to the business. This is an excellent opportunity for a sales professional with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a professional sales role within the maritime industry.

The Role

As Sales Manager will work closely with the Sales Director and you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities whilst maximising opportunities from our existing customer base within defined territories.

Maintaining a target driven mentality is paramount, together with a strong focus on achieving clear goals and objectives. The role requires a high level of dedication, determination, and customer focus.

Summary

Identifying and qualifying new business based on our international targets.
Initiating sales over the phone and arranging online and local meetings within the territories.
Develop new business opportunities in conjunction with our sales team and international agents.
Extensive International travel to given territories. Approx 8-10 days travel/month within Europe.
Monitoring Customer performance.
Liaise with all relevant internal departments as necessary.
Promotion of our group facilities.
Weekly reporting and attending scheduled sales meetings (via Teams / in person) as required.
Must be proficient in English.
Knowledge of sales within the maritime industry.

The person

The role will be perfectly suited to someone who relishes the opportunity of engaging and communicating with clients from many different countries and likes to travel. Customer engagement will be via direct face to face meetings, over the telephone or by using Teams/Zoom meetings. You should have at least 10 years’ experience in the Maritime industry, preferably within a sales role.

You should be enthusiastic, dynamic and enjoy speaking to people and be happy to pick up the phone. Must be proficient in English and have a good understanding of technology to set up and participate in online meetings.

Progression

There is a career progression to this role. The successful candidate, showing the correct attributes and level of performance, would eventually be offered the position of Sales Director when the current Sales Director is due to retire. This is currently estimated at a period of 2-3 years.

Background

A business specialising in the repair and service of marine exhaust gas turbochargers for the shipping industry has a vacancy for a Field Service Engineer to join their expanding dynamic company.

The Field Service Engineer will be based in the company’s workshop in the Southampton area. 

Travel to the company’s other workshops worldwide is expected. The position involves extensive international travel.  There will be a substantial time away from home with flexibility a must. 

The Role

  • Is responsible for the service and repair of exhaust gas turbochargers
  • Will be working on turbochargers installed in ships of all sizes and at land-based power plants
  • Minimising downtime is critical. There will be times when the engineer will be required to work on a job for a sustained period to meet the customer’s needs
  • Work in the company’s workshop and live within commuting distance

The Person

  • To have a minimum of two years of experience working in a marine engineering position
  • To have a minimum of two years of experience working on turbochargers manufactured by ABB/Accelleron, MAN or MET (essential)
  • The experience of working on new generation turbochargers (desired)
  • To be a problem solver and capable of working independently
  • To be prepared to spend long periods of time away from home, including weekends with a flexible and positive attitude to work
  • To be experienced in using measuring equipment, recording results and comparing against expected data
  • Excellent written and spoken English with report writing skills
  • To hold a driving licence

Background

A business specialising in the repair and service of marine exhaust gas turbochargers for the shipping industry has a vacancy for a Packer and Delivery Driver to join our busy stores and warehouse department. The Packer and Delivery Driver will be based in the company’s workshop/warehouse in the Rotterdam area. Travel to the company’s other workshops/warehouses in Europe is expected.

The role:

  • The correct locating and picking of goods from warehouse storage from a pick list
  • The making of packing boxes, securely packaging of goods, weighing of packed boxes, and the labelling packed boxes
  • The safe operation of the box making and laminating machines
  • The safe loading of vehicles and movement of good within the warehouse
  • The keeping of records of incoming and outgoing packages, checking for damage and the filing of delivery notes, invoices and documentation
  • To carry out deliveries and intercompany transfer within Europe
  • To assist with the general repairs and maintenance of the company’s buildings

The person:

  • To have previous experience as a Packer and Driver or a Warehouse Operative (Desired)
  • To have an attention to detail, the ability to work in a team with good time manage
  • To have a full clean Driving Licence with the ability to confidently drive and travel throughout Europe
  • To have a fork lift operator‘s licence and to be competent in warehouse forklift operations. (Desired). Training can be provided
  • To have carpentry skills for the building of packing boxes
  • To have the ability to work well with your hands
  • To have the ability to use box making and laminating machines
